1-5. Tradewinds Sign Rally, October 19th, 2013, sunset to dusk. A loosely choreographed, participatory public art event with hand held, battery powered and customizeable LED props, semaphore alphabet banners, an orange steel arch and chalk lines drawn on the dirt of lot that trace the floor plan of the Tradewinds Hotel sited there since 1960, and razed in 2008. Performers spell out a tribute to the Tradewinds in semaphore while the Highland high marching band performed a series of pop tunes. Featured as part of High Desert Test Sites, 2013.
6-9 Tradewinds Revival, September 21, 2012. A night of drive-in video with three simultaneous projections of over 30 submitted shorts related to the theme of stopping and staying, projected on the side of a carwash at the western edge of an empty lot along former route 66 with audio broadcast by by low power radio on three channels. A running schedule of entries was kept by overhead projector.
10-11. Sun Selfies. Proposals for billboard and road sign installations of images created by asking people to submit photos of the sun taken with their finger or thumb over their cell phone camera lens. 2013-14.
12-14. Keepsake #1. Collaboration with Billy Joe Miller. We worked with an elderly couple, Lois and Ed King, to select a photo from their collection and to respond to it with additional imagery, including a staged photograph. 2014.
